1. Introduction
Have you ever been in a laboratory?
A laboratory is a place where students and scientists conduct experiments. Because many experiments involve chemicals, glassware, and electrical equipment, everyone must follow safety rules.
A safe laboratory has many safety facilities such as fire extinguishers, first aid kits, emergency exits, and safety signs. Students also wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as laboratory coats, gloves, and safety goggles.
In this lesson, you will learn how to describe a laboratory using a descriptive text while also understanding the importance of workplace safety.
2. Reading Text
My Safe Laboratory
My school laboratory is a clean, bright, and safe place for learning science. It is quite large and has many tables, chairs, and laboratory equipment.
Every student wears a laboratory coat, safety goggles, and gloves before starting an experiment. These personal protective equipment help protect students from dangerous chemicals and accidents.
There is a fire extinguisher near the entrance. A first aid kit is attached to the wall, and an emergency exit is located at the back of the laboratory. There are also safety signs that remind everyone to work carefully and follow the laboratory rules.
The chemical storage cabinet is locked and clearly labeled. Waste is separated into different bins to keep the laboratory clean and safe.
I enjoy studying in this laboratory because it is comfortable, well-organized, and safe. It is an excellent place to learn while practicing good safety habits.
